I find much wisdom in standing up for one's needs without the fear of loss of affection or love. I have lived my entire life of 49 years to please my parents and others out of fear of disappointing them to the point that I have completely sabotaged any true happiness and joy I could have experienced with a soulmate. This site has helped me calm down a little for the past five minutes. Thanks. I am going through some tough therapy and emotional hell right now, trying to live responsibly by others and myself.
